The Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare INFN - founded on August 8th 1951 - is the national public research Institute dedicated to studying the elementary constituents of matter and the fundamental laws of the universe. INFN conducts research activity in the field of nuclear, particle, and astroparticle physics, as well as in developing technologies for research and their applications to benefit society. It works in close cooperation with the main Italian universities and in a highly competitive international context, but also, and above all, in large scientific collaborations.
Since 1975, the INFN Head office are in Rome, Piazza dei Caprettari, 70, (post code 00186), inside Palazzo Lante.
The Headquarter Services performs teaching and technical-professional support functions in relation to the tasks of the President, Executive Committee, and Management Council. It reports directly to the President and operates as an Office in direct collaboration. It comprises a Secretary’s Office and a Communications Office.
